Abba’s Embrace

Oil on Canvas ⌀ 80 cm

Painted in Elize's signature style, Abba's Embrace is brimming with texture due to the square impasto technique, layered on top of a golden background with brown underpainting. The focal point is brighter with detailed strokes. Towards the edge of the canvas the scene becomes progressively abstract.

Pondering

"You have received the Spirit of adoption as sons (and daughters) by which we joyfully cry, “Abba! Father!”

A loving relationship between a child and a father confirms identity and worthiness. To the contrary, an unloving or absent father may cause overall relational detachment and sow seeds of abject self-doubt which may cause a gaping empty hole in your being that no materialistic obsession can fill. Despite any scars or painful feelings that may have been inflicted by your earthly father, you have the full attention of your heavenly Father who longs to saturate you with his unconditional love. Abba Father is fascinated with you!

“Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had you in mind, had settled on you as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. He decided to adopt you into his family through Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 1:3-6 MSG)

The Father’s love cannot be earned, nor is it dependent on performance. He loves you because you are his child, you are. It is about being and not about doing. “For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons (and daughters) by which we joyfully cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit, assuring us that we are children of God. And if we are His children, then we are His heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance.” Romans 8:14- 19 (Amplified)

The colors blue and gold represent royalty and worthiness according to the verses quoted above.
